We work together with our community partners to offer Summer Programs, Back to School backpack and supplies, Holiday gifts, continuing education needs and emergency assistance that our youth may need. Our goal is to ensure the needs of our youth are met. As well as, taking away the challenges and giving them confidence, which will help them succeed.
The Orange Duffel Bag program is a 12-week pathway that provides coaching and support for young teens that could use a helping hand. Our aim is to evoke and inspire confidence in our students so that they can achieve success and sustainability. Students will meet once a week on a college campus with coaches and advocates to give them the necessary tools and resources to lead their best life. Food, transportation, and materials will be provided in each meeting. Each student in the graduating class will be awarded with an honorary orange duffel bag and a laptop computer. It is an opportunity for young teens to create their path to success.

Prom is a memorable event that all high school students should be able to experience. We are teaming up this year with the Northside Hospital to give at least 30 high schoolers what they deserve on this special night, but we can’t do it alone.

Back to school season is always a hectic time for many but it can be extra stressful when you can’t provide your child all his or her necessary school supplies. We work with local schools to find students in need of some extra assistance. Our Backpack Drive is able to lend a helping hand by providing children backpacks filled with school supplies. Backpacks will be distributed by the schools during open house. Last year, The Place distributed over 1400 filled backpacks to our schools.

Each year in Forsyth, hundreds of parents struggle to make the holidays special for their families. The Holiday House is a place where parents can go Christmas shopping for their children at no cost to them. We want to spread the joy of this giving season. Last year we provided gifts to 763 families and 2,064 children. We are seeking donations for all ages. We ask that all items donated be new, except for gently used bicycles or gaming systems.
