The goal of The Place is to help Forsyth County families with not only emergency needs, but to be self-sustaining.  The Place Food Market serves 451 households monthly and the Mobile Pantry serves on average 129 household members per month.

The Homegrown Garden is one of our most recent and developing programs.  It is an extension of The Place of Forsyth County Garden.  We have 53 garden beds that provide fresh vegetables and herbs to The Place Market.  The Place Market provides a shopping experience for clients.  Using a point system, families can choose items, instead of receiving a pre-made bag.  The Homegrown Garden is an edible landscape, it will not only produce more food options such as; blueberries, strawberries, and figs, but will provide a beautiful landscape.

The Legacy Bricks will be a ‘Pathway of Hope’ to walk through the Homegrown Garden and create a sanctuary.  The pathway will be laid in the shape of a tree, branching out through the garden.  The first phase of the Legacy Brick Project will be the trunk of the tree.  Like with everything in life you need a strong foundation.  Your brick will be part of the foundation of the ‘Pathway of Hope’.  With your help we can create this beautiful garden while helping people in our community.  A Legacy Brick would make a lovely gift for friends and family both living and in memory of those who have passed on.

A 4”x8” brick is $100.00, with up to three lines of no more than 18 characters/spaces each. An 8”x8” brick is $200.00, with up to six lines of no more than 18 characters/spaces each.  A completed official order form is required for purchase.  The initial installation goal is 200 engraved bricks.
